Absolutely, and I hope you stick to your guns in the future as well. The rules are often there for safety's sake, and ignoring them puts not only the driver of the illegal kart at risk, but everybody else as well.
I say shame on the scrutineer. He/she should not have allowed the kart to compete in the first place.
