Speedyman you did the right thing, shame you had to take things that far. Not much fun for anyone.
Many appear to be pointing the finger at the scrutineer but as I understand it is the scrutineer who should have informed the Clerk of Course ideally by way of a non compliance notice, and it is the Clerk that should have interviewed the driver and taken the appropiate action, not the scrutineer.
