I agree with Alan and Ian but the trouble is the question has to be asked 'where do we draw a line'?
I, for one, always run to the rules (even sometimes at my own disadvantage) and have been left feeling penalised by clubs sometimes not acting upon incidents or issues that have been raised and its especially annoying when, in the case of technical regulations, you go to a great deal of effort to make sure your machine is right. Is it then fair for someone who has not been so detailed not be penalised?

At the end of the day the rules are rules, they are clearly printed in the yearbook and the kart in question was in breach of those regulations, full stop.
