You will find that most drivers at the front of the grid in W60 will have the same gearing with maybe 1 tooth difference. The actual performance of each engine will be slightly different so they will adjust to suit this. We have one engine that gives very good top end but always needs 1 or 2 extra teeth although its rev's are the same as our other engines at the max RPM.

When you have your 50 hour old engine rebuilt you shoulld see a big difference anyway but if you ask for it to be dyno'd you can then ask your engine builder to explain the power curve and the engines optimum rev range.

As a guide we aim for 11400 to 12200 and depending on the track will let the engine under rev if it helps pull out of the medium speed corners.

As you will be continually told on this site,it is all down to testing. It is worth asking your driver what he likes, he might be good at slicking it down the inside under braking or maybe he likes to get out of the corners quick and edge past on the straights.
