Yes you can restrict it. We use this in NatSKA so that we can use our senior max as a junior.

Take the powervalve spring out and replace it with a piece of copper tube the correct length so that the powervalve doesnt kick in. You can check this by taking the exhaust off and pushing the PV up.

I dont think this is legal for MSA.
