We had the same problem. It is a damaged / water in the track sensor. If you remove the track sensor before you turn it on, once its on plug the sensor back in, the lines will appear again but press one of the buttons on the front (doesn't matter which) and you'll be able to see temp and RPM. In the long run, get a new track sensor cable and box.
