If you can find a hone with longer stones it will be fine.
Some of the ebay sellers offer different size and grade of stones.
I've honed BT82 barrels to bust the glaze with a hone from ebay and it worked great.
Put a new ring in the piston and gap it, if you do hone the barrel.
An old trick on race engines used to be to leave the barrel(s) out overnight to rust in the dew then clean it off.
This puts minute pits in the surface to retain oil.
Don't overdo the honing, just do enough to bust the glaze and put a cross hatch in the bore.
Clean the barrel thorougly of the oil you used for the stones and don't forget to clean the ports as well.
