Have I missed something here?
Why is it dangerous to remove the valve core and inflate the tyre?
The resultant tyre pressure to pop the bead is the same, with or without the valve.
Am I being dim?
Proper tyre soap, (that's why it was invented) should be used.
Nice warm tyres and a tyre band.
You have my deepest sympathy as I remember I nearly died the first time I changed just one tyre on our first prokart,
That's why I invented my tyre changer.
Actually you do sometimes get a set of tyres that are absolute pigs to blow on, that's why the proper tyre soap is so much better than WD40 or washing up liquid as their film strength is poor and in fact can hinder the process.
