Hi all, is there anyway in which someone can put into perspective of how much a clean carb is better than a dirty one and what it would do to engine performance?

A few months ago i cleaned of my carb out, i didn't put in a new kit of diaphrams etc, i just cleaned all the filters and the insides etc.. and yesterday when i ran the engine, it picked up a lot quicker than usual - would this be the clean carb?

I know it seems logical etc.. but i haven't used the kart since october last year, and even then i've only been out about 5 or 6 times, so i forget what it's like between test days, any info would br great! Thanks, Thomas......
