i will admit that the formula I posted (based on Poiseuille's Law) isn't perfectly fitted to a rotax max and is fairly "general".
The formula you posted is published by Rotax as a general guide for their range of 2 stroke microlight engines, it is designed to be very safe so that things do not go quiet when flying.

are you modelling the actual fluid dynamics or looking up empirical data?
Both
as someone who works with cfd on a day to day basis you dont have to tell me that fluid dyanmics can be complicated.
Well at least we are agreed on that one.
