With all of the claims about must have bits to win in Rotax I think it is time to point out that huge expenditure is not required to win, nor is brand new latest spec kit. I am talking club racing however but with a pretty high standard of competition. I am sure that alanrr or andrewrr will both confirm this from recent experience.
Good prep, attention to detail and a driver that can drive a bit will yield results without spending big bucks.
My chassis and engine (just the one) are 2007 and the motor has had one good re build in Jan 09 yet still getting results.
The one who spends the most does not automatically win if you can get the detail right, which I think is what was intended when Rotax was conceived bringing the best drivers to the top whatever your cash input, up to a point naturally you can't race for a £ but you do not need 1000's.
