Chads - That sounds like that scene in "Catch 22".
So - bring in a restrictor to level the playing field, but only use it on the barrels that were introduced to level the playing field... Ok - so what you get then is all the 04 barrels winning again (and worth mega money again) but now with everybody on 09's well out of pocket...
No - I dont think I missed the point really!
I spoke out negatively about the 09's and the BRP MMM (money making machine) but to be fair, the only way to stop a very limited number of old engines being way faster than the rest is to bring out something that you can make repeatedly that is as fast or slightly faster. This year - my first in karting - Rotax is a massive farce, and I hate it, but while ever my 2 sons want to race on 4 wheels against 20+ other competitors in and around Yorkshire, its Hobsons choice.
If BRP had said £150 to £200 all in for a fitted exchange barrel CNC'd to dead equal spec (any year, it would not matter)on their new milling machines, I for one would have sung their praises and forgiven other cock ups.
Shame - BRP had the opportunity to make some money, rebuild their reputation and generate more customer loyalty but they chose to crank the BRP MMM up to the redline...
