quick check to see if its a zip storm before keeping the foot in...lol...nose cone might act as a ramp.

avoiding a crash is most often luck..wee boy spun infront of my son on a corner...ive always told my son to go down the inside id someone has a spin on a corner...he did...wee boys kart griped..came across the track infront of him...full speed into the side of him...your kid will work it out for themselves...instinct will take over...they wont always get it right.
