tell him to back off & look for the gap. this is an important training issue that will filter through to anything else driving or riding related.

computed based racing simulators have seriously helped me overcome hazard fixation in the kart. standing starts during online races with other players tend to pan out just like in real life - thirty virtual cars hitting the first corner is an effective training scenario, without the potential pain or expense :)
