I have spoken to John Ryan at the MSA and they are very concerned about your fears on the safety of the Zip nose cone.

They have taken on board the 'few' communications that they have received and are asking for more information if possible because the more data they have, the easier it is to assess the problem.

They will be examining the kart that was involved in the accident highlighted on the forum, next week.

They will assess whether deformation of the nose cone prior to an accident agravates the possibility of a more serious accident happening.

This would negate scrutineers failing damaged nose cones prior to racing as they can become more dangerous out on the track due to damage.

Quite understandably, they can only act on problems when they are informed of them and when I broached the idea of a drivers association, John agreed that it would be a good way to impart information and problems to them without the need for forum discussions.

Indeed, if it had been in place already, certain other problems could have been addressssed by using the advantage of unity.

Rest assured that the MSA are now doing everything they can for you as quickly as possible now that they know of the problem and we must await their findings.

Do send them as much information as you can though.

Don't be afraid of talking to the MSA, they don't mark your card for future reference, they regard you as customers.
