the track only has one pick up so splits arnt possible. but thanks for the heads up on that as it will come in handy for other tracks. i think its time to get the laptop out at the track and start downloading his data. but you would think that changing thru a range of teeth i would see some kind of improvement?
which is why i was asking if it could be either that i need to adjust the carb as well when i change gearing and if i should be running him on a low a gear as possible hot get him used to going in to corners faster and getting used to carrying more speed thru to get the most out of the lower gear?

he is running at the front of the grid, i dont think it will be long before his has his first win, and is getting stronger all the time, could it be he just needs more time?

as for the carb i set it via his high and low revs that he is pulling and the temp on his mychron. i try to get the highest revs flat out i can for high and low jet adjustments and try to keep engine temp around 200 - 210. (thats peaking)when i look back thru his mychron over the lap he will average around 195 thru the lap with the occasional spike to 200-210 when coming out of high revs into low. now im not sure if this is due to the braking effect temporarily increasing the engine temp.

richy.
i too have problems with the break system on the intrepid, you have to constantly bleed them, every two weeks as they go off, i dont mind to tell you the truth as it is still a good kart and i think it is very competative. ive never thought about the realease of the break though!

and i can see how that could be a problem if the pistons are slow to release, my lad like his breaks to be soft rather than hard as he finds if they are too hard the backend locks up to easy being hydraulic and he doesnt like it.

i was looking at the rissy website the other night and wouldnt mind coming down to tell the truth, they seem to have v.good grids down there.
i might try and get down there for the october meeting.( august and sept already booked up).

guess ill just have to keep on testing!
