i fully appreciate the "problem" but under that method of scoring the guy who appears to lose out has had the same rules all season and he's been racing against the same people.

if the "visitor drivers" werent there he still wouldnt win the championship. at least in your example he gets a winners trophy on that day.

it could be argued that under the method where every driver scores points the driver who had to come first could be part of a national team and they enter 3-4 drivers to make it harder for the driver who only needs 3rd to win a championship which, up and until now, he has done better in.

i think i prefer the members only scoring method actually.
