If you look at MotoGP then wild cards get points, but something like the WTCC, GT Racing - often the visitor can get the trophy and not the points.

I can see the arguement both ways. ALthough normally it is a case that by being a member you have paid your championship entry fee. If someone pays to just race and doesn't pay the championship registration entry fee then they can't get points.

I think you just need to play the game at which circuit you are at. If you want it changed suggest it to the club's committee. MOst (if not all) kart clubs are there for their members so if a majority of the members want it one way then they will/should use that method.
