BRP is not going to develop and build a rotary engine just for karting; that’s far too minor a business. Such an engine would have to fit at least two or more of their far more important products. I cannot see the weigh/space saving being of such benefit in their watercraft, outboard motors or snowmobiles, so I wonder. Woelfle/Aixro don’t primarily target the karting market either, so whatever they do won’t primarily have in mind the whims of one national motorsport association like the MSA. That too would be recipe for failure. John: They just didn’t have to production capacity at the time – it’s been greatly expanded in the meantime.
