"How does having a range of karts at a range of different lap times make the class less attractive to the faster guys? there'll still the be the fast boys up the front, just they'll be a lot more slower ones behind them, what goes on behind them doesn't matter does it?"

In the heats, they would be in front... ok, granted, for the final, the quicker guys usually find their way to the front, but I've lost count of the number of times I've seen quick guys have weekends ruined by off the pace, unpredictable drivers.... putting them in older equipment will probably make them even slower!
