23 stone? So that’s about 145 kg!?

Frankly, I think Chads got it right with his 2nd and 3rd points:

“...and getting some serious help with his weight, before it becomes a major health issue.
Maybe the karting could be an incentive for weight reduction.”

To Karting Student: Aixro runs at 180 kg at present.

But no matter what the engine power, that sort of weight penalty will always put you at an impossible disadvantage, so back to Chads’ point.
