Just remember if ading more oil i.e. 40-1 then you are effectively giving the motor more lubrication however your combustion mixture is actually weaker due to the reduced volume of fuel present for combustion so there will be a performance change from that alone, given that there is an ideal Air Fuel Ratio (AFR) to give optimum combustion theroretically 14.7 to 1 however most 2/ motors run better with a slightly higher fuel content of around 15.1 to 1. Therefor by adding oil you are reducing this ratio from the same carb settings used with less oil.
