Sorry mate, I missed a bit:-

1) No, I don't think that seat stays would have a GREAT effect on kart sales..... but Karts WITH seat stays increase the sale OF seat stays.... and I can GUARANTEE you that the profit on single seat stays is at a larger percentage than the sales of chassis!

2) In the 1950s, manufacturers of CARS added 'holes' (oh yes they DID!), Vents and 'Fins' which did NOTHING to aid the cars. However, they DID increase the sales of those cars DURING that era. Today, 20 inch wheels increase the sales of certain cars..... have you DRIVEN one with such wheels....? You really ought to TRY one back to back with ORDINARY wheels and see how 'good' they are! By GOD... fashion affects CAR sales; even when the fashion item makes the car WORSE!
