We once strapped a Rotax engine onto a Wright chassis normally running an ICA engine, running Bridgetstone YGB's. We thought the Rotax would struggle with the additional grip that the Bridgestones gave, but we were wrong.
It was much more enjoyable than driving the Rotax on SL7's, and after a days testing it was only around 3 tenths a lap off the ICA consistently. Bearing in mind this was around Clay Pidgeon where 3 tenths is a fair amount however.
No contest when it came down to which one everyone wanted to drive though... good old 100cc's! Rotax's are quick enough, it's always been about the drive-ability factor that it's a let down for me.
