It's a long answer BECAUSE there is so much confusion about how to mount a seat! It's also a painstaking task. Done well and you'll gain speed, done badly....... need I say more ?
You'll note that I didn't even cover the using of multiple sets of mounting holes (to allow you to move the seat between heats), multiple sets of packing washers so that the change can be done REALLY quikcly, 'plating' (with rivetted steel panels) the seat so that the holes can't 'creep', mounting the lead on the seat SAFELY, seat height and the effects of raising and lowering the seat on handling, etc., etc..
The answer is long becasue the CONCEPT is subtle!
