Why would you need a new set of gaskets?

Wouldn't the base gasket on the barrel stay the same shape and profile?

It's only the crankcase that you are reprofiling and you're doing that to match the tranfer ports of the barrel when you turn it round.

Nowt wrong with using the old gaskets and it can be useful if the old one has been compressed and is just the thickness you need for the squsih you're aiming for. I've done it and nothing leaks.

Is this site back to normal, it seems to be working for once?
