Let's have them then and allow tyre softner.

(Stands back and waits for the carcinogenic brigade to draw their battle lines)

I suppose once one club starts doing it and people see that it can be cheap and fun, other clubs would quickly follow, having to give in to CUSTOMER pressure.

After all, cadet tyres can last a season and I don't notice them clamouring for an expensive replacement.
