Firstly I cannot believe ANYONE fell for the minimum HT lead length bulls*it or do you really believe that 3 nanoseconds is going to make any difference to the engine performance.

In fact it's considerably less than that but I'm being SUPER generous.

I would have thought that someone would have done a bit of calculating before plucking a figure of 210mm out of the sky, un*******believable!!!!!!!!

I'll carry on shall I?

OK, This is supposed to be fun, cheap, easy, friendly club racing but all we ever get confronted with is more rules and regulations of which 90% could be dispensed with, if only in the name of pure sanity and common sense, the one missing ingredient in all of this.

The WORST part of all this bull**** is that it doesn't apply to 99.99% of club drivers who turn up and just want a relaxing fun day racing like minded associates and have a beer afterwards.

A tiny percentage MAY cheat but the greatest percentage get this crap thrust upon them so that you just might be able to stop them cheating, my friend, YOU CAN'T! YOU WON'T!

Whether you catch them or not, they still do it, so why punish everybody else in the pursuit of a futile task?

As for the clutch business, for once I'm actually lost for words.............

No I'm not:

QUOTE:

The internal running surface of the clutch must remain dry and free of grease or lubricant or any additional substance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????

Do you realise just how utterly stupid that last bit is?

Taken to the Nth degree, and believe me, it's happening because it has happened to us, ANYTHING detected on the internal surface, even a fingerprint, is outside the regulations.

People are really worried when they remove their clutches in scrutineering because even though they may have clesned it before the race, if it's a wet dirty muddy day, THERE WILL BE SOMETHING IN THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! because it isn't completely sealed to the elements.

But do they realise that before drawing up such a bozo regulation, 'couse not!

Well, thanks, that's a great sport to be part of, isn't it?

I'll keep moaning and banging on until they nail the lid down on me or throw me out, in the vain hope that someone uses a glimmer of intelligence and thinks about doing something about it.

Incidentally, we hit our highest November figure this month, in a recession, since we brought the club, so I think we KNOW what the drivers want, you'd do yourself no harm finding out what that is.( a generalisation there, not aimed at you personally by any means).

Anyway Graham, you KNEW I was never going to resist the temptation to comment and I think you deliberately goaded me, you old rascal you :)

The pansies loom ever closer, Honk Honk!
