Don't bother to buy new reeds, it's down to poor manufacture.

The old block had a tendency to chip the corners of the reeds and was replaced by the 'gold' block.

This is much the same in quality----poor.

The inner petal supports tend to be overcut in production and it can be neccessary to move the petals on the block to even get them to cover the dividers.

Send it back to JAG if it is one of these.

The petals are invariably quite accurate but they are curved so they must be fitted the correct way round.

The block is usually the culprit and needs the 'doctoring'.

Very fine emery on a really flat block can be used to true the block or a woodworker's oilstone with plenty of oil on it.

The rubber coating is not well engineered.

Do remember to thoroughly wash the block after 'treatment'.

Cheating? Correcting bad production? Whatever.....
