We run Comer cadet and are a private team. Is it really necessary to have full data logging to setup the kart and get the driver going right?

If so what are the most important things you can learn?

If the answer is yes then I would relish the challenge and I'm sure in time I would master it as I'm used to computers. But if it's not essential then I don't want to waste my time and money.

Any views/advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
