I feel for this lad. Our boy is a Minimax club championship winner but we only just make the weight this year and he is 14. We would not have been able to race Minimax last year at this new weight. He was way too tall and mature for cadet. There is a possibility that we will not be able to race juniors at all because of the weight. Suggest you could try the local Director of public health at the PCT/council. They make be able to advise on the weight range of a healthy child at 13. If the current set weight is above this or at top of range you could argue that the MSA are promoting obesity.
No idea what the healthy weight is-sorry.
