The engines don't "badly need a rebuild" they've just had one and get rebuilt regularly.
Nor are they geared down to 11,000. At MK they acheive nearly 13,000 and at Lydd and PFI and Whilton they're banging on around 13,600.
Yes, they're on a chassis that's heavier than a race kart, but that's what you need to be able to run these karts as often as we do.
The tyres aren't crap either. The Bridgestone YDS is amazing. It offers the most consistent performance over the life of the tyre.
You get what you pay for....
Indeed you do, that's why for less than half the price of a new rolling chassis, you can race 10 rounds of the championship and not have to worry about any other costs.
