Reverse your thinking....

Is karting good for you son/daughter? What class is he/she allowed to race at his/her age? Do WE want to do it? Can we AFFORD to do it?

At the end of each season, decide if it's the time to move class and THEN select a class.

The problem with your question is that it's like asking 'is Rotax a good stepping stone to Formula 1?'. It's the wrong question! You should be doing karting in any class, because it's FUN and NOT as 'step along the way'.

Start in the right place and you are MUCH more likel;y tol end-up in the right place!
