No.

The order of things from the engine to the nut working outwards is:

Large thrust washer.
'O' ring, (if you are using the new type bearing.)
Bearing, short type if running 'O' ring
Clutch cover fitted over bearing.
Washer, (small diameter if using 11 tooth)
17mm nut.

The thrust washer may have been stuck by grease to the back of the clutch cover and actually stayed in place or was laying flat to the oilseal and you didn't notice it.
