I understand - I know you weren't criticising 125 gboxs and like you I think the Aixro is a great engine.

I was just saying that the start up costs are very high - say Ł3000 - Ł4000. The last time I looked a 2nd hand engine was going for around Ł3000 but they may be cheaper now.

The only points I was making was that for a lot less initial costs you get a very powerful (comparable??) set up and can race it at lots of exciting tracks.

A case in point is a 125 race winning (as advertised) on the for sale section now for Ł1400. I hasten to add that this isn't mine!!! - Not trying to sell anything. We have just gone into 125 open and natually excited about it and keen for others to see what is probably the best karting experience per Ł i is!

As for running costs we will be doing around 10 to 12 races a year and don't expect mainetenance costs to be much more than when we pro karted. Pro karting seemed to be like bumper cars these days and our repair bills were high. I am not expecting the same in LC open karting, just higher servicing bills. All in not much more.
