be penalised for crossing the start line ahead of second placed driver?????????
Today my son (the polesitter) was given a five place penalty, for crossing the start line 0.18 seconds ahead of the the second place driver. After our meeting with the CoC, i went and talked with the mechanic and (i believe) the parents of the said driver, who informed me that our formation lap was too slow and this had left said driver with an oiled up plug and they couldnt get off the line.
I appeeled the Coc's decision and penalty, plus i appeeled the fact that the Coc's form was not filled in correctly.My son and I were called in infront of the MSA Steward and two club stewards where we were allowed to put our case. after stressing our case including quoting the 'Blue Book', we where told by the MSA steward, if we argued any further the penalty would be increased. We excepted, under duress, the penalty (not wanting my son to recieve points on his licence)....... my question has to be would this leave a sour taste?????
