It appears that the world and his dog, including us, use Shell Advance Racing M30 castor based oil so why would you go down an unknown path. Its readily available, not badly priced and some suppliers even give discounts if you buy multiple bottles. In five years of racing we have not had any trouble with engine seizures. Make sure you use an in-line fuel filter, which should be replaced regularly, and clean the gauze screen in the pump end (top) of the carb. Apparently the fibres that collect in the filter & on the screen are from the oil which is plant based. We use 260mil of oil per 5 litres of petrol, a ratio recommended by our engine builder.
