If both engine and axle sprockets look about the same size then you probably have long circuit gearing on, for short circuit you'll need small engine and large axle.

Don't know how serious you are about getting it going but Talon will make sprockets to order, i had a larger engine one made for my polaris predator quad, it was road legal and i needed the top end, also try this place....
