Yes, you can leave the clutch in place and just clean it. Make sure you use the o ring as this does keep a lot of gunk out the clutch bell! The only time we have had to take it off is for scrutineering.

Top Tip: make sure the nut securing the clutch bell is torqued and loctited correctly because if it comes off whilst the engine is running the clutch petals will splay out and will have to be replaced!
