We competed in the national championship S1 for the last 8 years and have seen the cost steadily rise. I have always mechaniced for my son and prep'ed the equipment, and even with help with chassis's, engines and team costs, it still way too expensive for the average family. As stated before, the sport isn't run for benefit, or development of drivers. It is controlled by businesses for their benefit and profit. Why is there a need for a 7 round championship? Because each round makes more revenue for these businesses.

My son has now gone to Uni and he has decided to race in the University championship run by Club100, and really enjoyed his first round. I said I would fund him for the whole 9 round championship, and it is going to cost Ł400 (including the travelling) for the whole year!!!

Brings things into perspective!!
