Okay so how about the £ per mile then. Take an average circuit as 0.625 miles (1000 metres) and 42 seconds per lap. At an average meeting, you'd do around 143 laps / 90 miles. That would equate to £3.55 a mile.

Take a Superkart race at Donington on the National Circuit. A normal meeting would see 3x 15 min sessions. In an ICC kart, the lap record is 1m18. You're looking at around 34 laps a meeting. At 1.957 miles, that equates to 67.75 miles. At a average cost of £210, that equals £3.09 a mile.

A normal club kart race day. Again, 1000 metre / 42 second lap. 3 lap practice, 3 8 lap heats, 12 lap final = 39 laps = 24.375 miles. At an average £40 entry, that means £1.65 a mile.
