A bit new to this world myself, but I believe EVR has less expensive components than EVX, using more aluminium than mag. There's also EVRR now, with some changes to fuel tanks and so on.

Last Viper spec I have seen is for 2010, and yes there's a cross bar below the steering arms that didn't seem to be on earlier Vipers. The Viper spec does actually seem a bit different from EVR and EVX, I'm guessing to keep it in line with TKM budgets. The link below shows Clubman and Elite specs - and a big price difference.
