Pre 09, the consensus was that for senior, 07 was the year of choice (and 04 for junior). The fastest engine I ever used was borrowed from a competitor for one meeting whilst I was trying to troubleshoot a misfire on my 09. This was an 08 and it just pulled and pulled, no hesitation or flat spots anywhere in the rev range(and this was his worst engine!) This was the day when I realised just how unequal Snr Max engines were!

The same competitor has his engines up for sale on this marketplace right now as he's retiring. If I had the money I'd be snapping one up as I know how good they are!
