Good thinking, buzzin. I'd add the usual safety warnings when washing with petrol or any infammable substances: think about the consequences!

Secondly, be careful with any cleaning substance getting on the INNER faces of the crank case. Many people will warn you that some wheel cleaners are highly acidic: be careful they don't etch into the machined surfaces and prevent a good 'air-seal'. That also applies to over-cleaners which some people use.
