Ian it may amuse you to know that I attempted to self start a DD TKM this year after not having to do such a thing since the 70s! Guess what success even at a mere 57 years old, much to the amazement of the 18 year old owner who was even unable to start even when being pushed!
Like you said Technique counts for much more than strength and agility!
