Ian,

A couple of refinements to your system.

1) the seat board. Make it so it fits under the chassis bars. Hang it from the chassis by hooks, one either side one rear. (You can get the hooks from many hardware stores, from 8 to 10mm bar with a threaded end.Or just bend them up out of 8mm threaded studding.

If you fasten the hooks through slots, then they will fit a variety of karts.

If you want the seat above the chassis line, use an insert, if you want the seat below the chassis line, unscrew the hooks a bit.

2) Seat spacers. Go to http://www.directplastics.co.uk/
and order 1 meter of 30mm PVC rod. (Ł7.88 inc vat)
Saw off to length and drill 8mm hole through middle.
