Just had an interesting afternoon in the shed playing with my Rotax jet flow unit that I built.
I started by testing a set of someones 'laser measured' jets with some bizarre results.
I found three things you can't do.
Rely on the stamped number. Use pin gauges. Measure with lasers.
The accurate way is to measure flow rate and I found I could definitely say a jet was a 153.5 not a 152 once I worked out how Dellorto calculate the numbers on the jets.
With enough jets you can easily build a set that goes up in single increments.
I found one particular thing really throws out the flow results and causes variations that I didn't expect to show up, causing multiple tests of the same size jet to be faulty.
