Aristotle and others had noted a similar effect that was dismissed as science became more precise but the theory was revived in more recent times by a student call Mpemba, giving rise to the Mpemba effect.

I'm not sure you can dismiss it in this case though, given that you are dealing with water that may contain gases etc.

Adding a cap to the container and you might introduce Boolean parameters too.

Dismissing dynamax's statement is rather rude and shows that you didn't do too much thinking about the problem, or indeed sit in dynamax's class 55 years ago, playing hookey were you?
