Just moving my reply to the end of the thread where the origional was meant to be!

Diy, what I meant by sporting is that he didn't win any trophies, therefore he didn't 'cheat' in that sense. He did cheat in an ethical sense in that perhaps this was all designed to make him look like a better builder than he is and gain a commercial advantage.

In terms of IKR, it depends on the local rules and then it depends on whether anyone is actually checking. But certainly there are places you can legitimately race a msa non compliant engine, though this may not be in the spirit of the event. It's not black and white but like all things, there are pros and cons.
