well guys, u are all asking the wrong questions here rotax has dominated the karting world for such a long time nobody wants to change WELL its about time it did.
we did the cadet thing and spent a fortune on the right engines and engine builder ,right chassis , tyres every meeting and yes my boy was up there with the best and the cost went on and on. I'm not a millionaire and when we left cadets we moved up into mini max.
well my wallet could not handle the cost of mini max we only did 5 race meetings and if it wasn't one thing that went wrong its was another, again I listened to people telling me u have to buy this certain chassis and this particular engine to be competitive, which I must add cost a fortune because the engine had a history, history my ass it just lets people put extra noughts on the end of the price, as we all know to well. We are a dad and lad team and when things didn't go to plan the arguments started, coming from cadets as a front runner and spending a fortune moving to rotax you start asking yourself is it the equipement you have bought or is it your driver. I can honestly say I did..........
we lost all the enjoyment of karting because u lesson to people in the pits yes, rotax is the way to go only because they are probably selling one or two engines.........
We were going to sell and quit but a very good friend told us about the blue engine .
Now guys I know people and polotics which shouldn't come into karting but it dose seriously give this engine the respect it deserves. Now don't forget we had a good rotax engine so he thought he was going quick until he drove the blue engine against the rotax and dominated the field.
You will spend thousands on a good rotax engine and hundreds on rebuilds if you have a bottomless pocket then that's great but unlike most people we kart on a budget, there are some really good blue engines out there and quick ones too the rebuilds are affordable unlike rotax nobody tells you these things when u start .... also we have just tested a x30 and again it ticks all the boxes, even the engine rebuilds, but until it sorts its self out with championships and national numbers we are staying in blue as I said before this is a really good junior stage of karting.
we will be moving to x30 in 2015 but for now we are staying in blue ....my boys loves it so why change because guys its not us dads behind that steering wheel, its our boys or girls .....
so after all that and after being involved in cadets, rotax ,blue having a go in x30......
Blue is the way to go onto x30 as its the all same components and what you learn in Blue you can take to X30 ..............
